The short version
- We never record your audio. Your microphone is relayed live to the event and is never written to disk by us.
- But the room is public. The streamer is broadcasting. Anything you say can be heard, recorded and re-published by them or by their audience. Treat it as a stage, not a phone call.
- We store the minimum needed to run a ticket: your public Twitch or YouTube profile, which seat you took, and a session cookie.
- We never sell your voice, your account or your seat, and your audio is never used to train AI — we keep no copy to give anyone.
- Our public pages carry ads. On the home, events, seat and blog pages, Google and its partners use cookies to show them (section 5). The pages where you are live carry no ads and load no advertising code.
- Buying a ticket? PayPal handles your payment; we never see your card or bank details, only a record of the purchase (section 3).
- Ask us to delete your data at any time — contact@becloser.live.
1. Who we are
BeCloser is operated by BeCloser LLC (971 US Highway 202N, Ste N, Branchburg, New Jersey 08876, United States), the data controller for the information described here. Contact us at contact@becloser.live.
BeCloser is the venue, not the event. Streamers and organisers run their own shows on it, decide who is invited, and moderate their own rooms. This policy covers what we do with your information. What a streamer does with their broadcast — including any recording of it — is governed by their own terms and the platform they broadcast on.
2. Your microphone and your audio
This is the part worth reading twice.
When you join an event, your browser asks your permission to use your microphone. Audio is encoded in your browser and sent to our servers, which forwards it to the event's moderator and to the streamer's broadcasting software. It passes through memory and is gone.
- We do not record it. No audio file is written to disk, no copy is kept, and we cannot replay what you said.
- We do not transcribe it or run speech recognition on it.
- We check it for two things, automatically. Every few seconds while you're talking, a short moment of your audio is checked in memory for whether it sounds like music, or like a microphone that's overloading. If it keeps happening, the event's moderators see a flag on your seat. Only that flag is kept, for the length of the event — never the audio, and never anything about what you said.
- We do not create voiceprints or any other biometric identifier from your voice. We do not use your audio to train machine-learning models, and we do not sell, license or give it to anyone else to do so — we keep no copy, so there is nothing to hand over.
What we do not record, others can. An event is a live broadcast. The streamer is recording and publishing their stream, and anyone watching can record it too. Your voice, and whatever you say with it, may end up in a video-on-demand, a clip, or a re-upload that outlives the event and that we do not control and cannot take down. This works exactly like speaking up at a live venue: by taking a seat and unmuting, you accept that.
Your microphone is only ever active while you have the event page open. Closing the tab ends it. Your browser also gives you a permanent mute — use it.
3. What we collect

We ask Twitch and Google only for the fields above. We do not request or receive your email address, and we never see your password for those accounts — sign-in happens on their site, and we only receive the result.
The contact form on our home page opens your own email program. It sends nothing to us until you press send in that program, and we receive whatever you wrote there as an ordinary email.
4. What we do not do
- We do not sell, rent or share your account, your seat, or anything you say with anyone for their own purposes. The advertising data described in section 5 is collected by Google directly from your browser; we never receive it.
- We run no analytics: no Google Analytics, no session recording, and no tracking pixels of our own.
- We never show ads, or load advertising code, on the pages where your microphone is live, or on the tools the streamer and moderators use.
- We do not build behavioural profiles or use automated decision-making that produces legal effects for you.
- We do not collect data from children — see section 9.
5. Cookies and advertising
Our own cookie
BeCloser itself sets one cookie, bc_session. It
holds a random identifier, nothing else — no name, no profile data. It
is HttpOnly (scripts cannot read it), sent only over HTTPS,
restricted to our own site, and expires after 30 days. Signing out
deletes it immediately.
It is strictly necessary to keep you signed in, so it does not need your consent. If you block it, you can browse the site but cannot reserve a seat.
Some pages also use your browser's local storage to remember small conveniences on your own device. That information never reaches us.
Advertising
The home page, the events page, the seat picker and the blog show ads served by Google AdSense. Your microphone page, and every page the streamer and moderators use, carry no ads and no advertising code — and the pages that do carry ads are blocked by their own security settings from using a microphone at all.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- When an ad loads, your browser sends Google and its partners information such as your IP address, your device and browser type, the page you are viewing, and the cookie or local-storage identifiers they set. This goes straight from your browser to them; we never receive it. We see only totals, such as how many ads were shown on a page.
- You can turn off personalised advertising in Google's My Ad Center, and opt out of many other vendors' cookies at aboutads.info (US) or youronlinechoices.eu (EU and UK). You will still see ads, just not personalised ones.
- How Google uses information from sites that use its services: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Your choices. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, Google's consent message asks before any advertising cookie is set. If you decline, you may still see limited ads that use no cookies. In US states with privacy laws you can opt out of the sale or sharing of your data for targeted advertising (section 8). Either way, the Privacy choices link at the foot of every page with ads lets you change your answer at any time.

Everyone in the audience of an event also hears you. That is the point of the product, and it is covered in section 2.
7. Why we are allowed to hold this (UK/EU users)
- To perform our contract with you — your account, your session, your reservation and, for a paid ticket, the purchase. Without these there is no ticket.
- Legal obligations — keeping purchase records for as long as tax and accounting law requires.
- Our legitimate interests — keeping the service secure, rate-limiting abuse, and giving moderators what they need to run a safe room. We have weighed these against your rights and keep the data minimal.
- Your consent — your browser asks separately before any page can use your microphone, and you can withdraw it at any time in your browser settings. Advertising cookies are also set only with your consent, asked by Google's consent message; withdraw it with the Privacy choices link.
8. Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Depending on where you are, you may also have the right to restrict or object to processing, to receive your data in a portable form, and to complain to your data protection authority.
New Jersey residents: under the New Jersey Data Privacy Act you may confirm whether we process your personal data, access and correct it, obtain a copy, and have it deleted. We do not sell your account, seat or audio data, and we do not profile you in ways that produce legal or similarly significant effects. The ads on our public pages do involve processing for targeted advertising (section 5), and you may opt out of it with the Privacy choices link on any page with ads, or by writing to us. Use the contact below and we will answer within 45 days.
California residents: we do not sell or share your account, seat or audio data. The advertising cookies described in section 5 may count as "selling" or "sharing" personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising under the CCPA/CPRA. You can opt out — "Do not sell or share my personal information" — with the Privacy choices link on any page with ads, and we treat a Global Privacy Control signal from your browser as an opt-out: it switches those pages to non-personalised ads. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any right.
Email contact@becloser.live from the account you signed in with, or tell us your Twitch or YouTube handle. We answer within 30 days. Deletion removes your account, your sessions and your reservations; purchase records stay only as long as tax and accounting law requires. It does not reach anything a streamer already broadcast or a viewer already recorded, which is not ours to delete.
9. Children
BeCloser is not for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. Twitch and YouTube set their own minimum ages and you must meet them. In the EEA and the UK, if you are under 16 you need a parent or guardian's permission to use BeCloser. If you believe a child has given us data, write to us and we will delete it.
10. How we protect it
- All traffic, audio included, travels over encrypted connections.
- Passwords for passcode events are stored only as a one-way hash — we cannot read them, even to help you.
- Sessions are opaque random identifiers held server-side, so signing out revokes them immediately rather than waiting for them to expire.
- Access to the moderation tools is limited to the event's organisers and to us.
No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your data, we will tell you and the relevant authority as the law requires.
11. Where your data goes
BeCloser LLC is based in New Jersey, United States. Our relay and our database both run in Amazon Web Services' US East (Ohio) region, and the website is hosted on US infrastructure, so your information is stored and processed in the United States. For transfers out of the UK or the EEA we rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses with our providers.
12. Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. For changes that materially affect your rights, we will say so on the site before they take effect.
